Heartbleed Announcement

We are aware of the recent major security vulnerability named “Heartbleed.” Heartbleed is a severe vulnerability stemming from a coding error in a widely-used security utility called OpenSSL. Heartbleed affects the encryption technology designed to protect your sensitive data (like username, passwords and emails) on the internet. Heartbleed is not a virus, but rather a flaw in the OpenSSL encryption code that takes advantage of servers. Accordingly, businesses need to update to the latest version of OpenSSL to mitigate and address the dangers Heartbleed poses.

A recent audit of our servers and network devices for any dangers posed by Heartbleed revealed no known vulnerability associated with Heartbleed at this time.   We will continue to monitor our technology environments and should we become aware of any instance that the vulnerable version of OpenSSL is in use, we will take immediate action to remedy the issue.
